The weekend in Inland Empire is looking pretty fabulous!  Inland Empire is well known for its wineries and wonderful restaurants.  However, there is a lot of great things happening as well for those of us that love the local arts, music and culture scene.    Whether you are a Yogi or a lover of art were sure you will love this weekends curated list of events.

  • Temecula Yoga Collective: celebrates their one year anniversary with FREE Classes for all attendees this weekend.  We  recommend it for beginners and advanced Yogi’s.  You’ll have a wonderful time. Cost: FREE (Temecula, CA)
  • Lucky Lion Dancers:  Pechanga Casino will featured the Lucky Lion Dancers in celebration of Chinese New Year Cost: FREE (Temecula, CA)
  • Temecula Valley Museum – The Many Faces of George Washington exhibit.  January 11 – February 16 (Temecula, CA)
  • iPad Tips and Tricks FREE Class:  Mike Loring will open the meeting with a discussion of the Windows operating system from 8:30 to 9:30. At 10 a.m., Delvina Fiducia will present an overview of some the features of the Apple iPad. We will go over some tips and tricks in Photos, the Safari browser, Mail, and Facetime. TVCUG is an all-volunteer nonprofit educational organization, there is no admission fee, and all ages are welcome.   • Music to My Eyes exhibit:   David Edward Byrd: Posters and Music Related Designs 1968-Now Cost: FREE. $3 donation recommended  (San Bernardino, CA)
  • Treasures of Ancient Egypt exhibit: Greeks in the Boot: Greek Influences in the Italian Peninsula as Reflected in the Pottery of Various Regions, ca. 800-200 B.C. Cost: FREE. $3 donation recommended  (San Bernardino, CA)
  • I Use To Be Darker Film Screening: Join UC Riverside Arts department for movie screening. “It is a low-key ramble through the ever-shifting feelings of a fractured family, a dreamy, detached chronicle of dissolution and renewal.” Jeannette Catsoulis, The New York Times. Cost: $8 (Riverside, CA)
  • The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley: Stanley Lambchop is a normal boy in all respects who wants to do something amazing. One night, the bulletin board above his bed falls right on top of him – and he wakes up flat!
  • Family Storytime:  11am every other Saturday at the Riverside County Library. Cost: FREE  (Riverside, CA)
  • Vintage Shopping Market:  Come enjoy a new shopping experience on the beautiful grounds of Jensen-Alvarado Ranch. Shop early, be the first to discover antiques, collectibles and re-purposed home decor. The market will be open to the public February 1, 2014 and the first Saturday of every other month. Shopping hours are from 8:00am to 2:00pm with free admission into the park.  (Riverside, CA)
  • Secrets of The Sun Exhibit:  The work of Corona photographer Stephen Hallet Willard (1894-1966) is featured at the Palms Springs Art Museum.  Cost:  FREE (Palm Springs, CA)

Best Valentines Day Restaurants in Inland Empire

Are you getting ready to plan your Valentines Day?  One of the things we love about the Inland Empire is the restaurants.  We couldn’t suggest a better location for your special day with your loved one.   Valentine’s Day is on a Friday this year which gives you several options from planning a romantic evening to a weekend getaway!

Mission Inn - Enjoy Valentine’s Day Dinner between February 1-28.  A Prix Fixe dinner menu includes choice of  Seared Diver Scallops, Butter Poached Swordfish or Filet Mignon, and end the night with a sweet taste of The Mission Inn’s famous Red Velvet Heart with Chocolate Truffles and Raspberry Coulis.   (Price: $46 per person).  The Mission Inn is also offering a Pink Couture Royal Afternoon Tea between 2-4pm during Valentines Week (February 9-16).  Enjoy pink macaroons, pink cream puffs, bonbons, Red Velvet mini cupcakes.  (Price: $39 per adult; $14 per child)

E.A.T Marketplace – An organically inspired menu will be prepared between 6-10pm on Friday and Saturday.  Three course farm to place menu includes vegetarian and gluten free options.  (Price: $75 per couple or $40 per person)

Tresinos –  Truly the best Italian Dining experience in Inland Empire.  The restaurant is family owned.  The food is fresh and all ingredients are homemade.  The owners also make their own pasta. ($5-$20)

Crepes de Paris – Nestled within the Victoria Gardens Mall is  a quaint and esquisite restaurant.  Crepes de Paris serves delicious french crepes.   They also have sandwiches and salads for a perfect dinner, lunch or dinner on Valentine’s Day.  We adore the French music they play and the decor.  It’s so romantic! (Cost $8 – $15)

Miramonte Winery –  Hippest place to have appetizers and wine on Valentine’s Day in Temecula Wine Country Southern California.  We recommend you get there a little before sundown to enjoy the sunset and order the cheese & fruit plate with your wine.  Wrap up your evening with a live band, Charcuterie or Mediterranean Board & a pitcher of their world famous Sangria.  The atmosphere at Mira Monte Winery is very festive and romantic! Open 11am-10pm.

Europa Village – Valentine’s Day Dinner Play.  Europa Village is hosting a Valentine’s Dinner Play, “Immortal Beloved” Love Letters for a Lifetime with a 4-course meal prepared by Chef Dean Thomas.    Each course is paired with Europa Wines. (Price $99-$125 per person)

Mount Palomar Winery – One of the original wineries in Temecula Wine Country opened in 1969.   Shorty’s Bistro is serving Valenties Dinner.  3 Course meal, paired with wine.  (Price: $75 per person).

Ponte Winery –  Enjoy Dinner and Dancing. Four course meal will be served.  (Price: $95 per person)

Wine Tasting

The Wine Tailor – Located in California’s Oldest Winery Location, The Thomas Winery, 8916 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga, CA.   This is one of those places you add on your bucket list, especially if your a California native.  It will make you appreciate the history of where you live.

San Antonio Winery –  Fine Wine Store represents wines of high quality from California, the US, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, South Africa, Switzerland, New Zealand, Germany, Australia, and many more.  Complimentary tastings includes 3 samples.  Tasting: Price $12.

Temecula Celebrates Restaurant Month

Temecula Valley Convention & Visitors Bureau  and the Temecula Valley Chamber of Commerce  are celebrating Temecula Valley Restaurant Month during the month of January.  Restaurant Month provides patrons with the opportunity to enjoy fine dining at discounted prices.

 The restaurants have also developed special menus to celebrate the special month long occasion.  There are nineteen local Temecula Valley Southern California restaurants participating in the festivities.

 This is a great event for locals and out of town visitors planning a weekend getaway, as well as food lovers who want to try several restaurants menus.  In looking at the menu we can tell the restaurants took a lot of time to put together the  menus.
