Things To Do This Weekend | Inland Empire Weekend Events 2/7/14-2/9/14

This week we want to put the spotlight on the City of San Bernardino art and music scene. There are several art galleries in town featuring photography and artifacts from around the world for a limited time only. If you are planning on attending the Snowed in With Kingston event we also recommend you head up to the mountain early. Big Bear is a busy place, especially if there is a big event.

Ebano – A Photographic Exhibit: The “Ebano” exhibit by Mexican photographer Nicolas Triedo at the National Orange Show Art Gallery in San Bernardino celebrates African heritage in Mexico. (San Bernardino, CA)

Anti-Valentine’s Day Pamper Yourself event: Join Victoria Gardens for a day of pampering, shopping and fun with your girlfriends! February 8 10am-1pm.

Orange Railway Museum: The non-profit Orange Empire Railway Museum has been preserving Southern California’s railway history since 1956. Home to over 200 historic railway cars and locomotives from Los Angeles and the West, the museum’s 90-acre site in Perris, California. Family approved.

Temecula Valley Museum: The Many Faces of George Washington exhibit. January 11 – February 16 (Temecula, CA)

Treasures of Ancient Egypt exhibit: selections from the permanent ancient egypt collection are featured. Cost: FREE. $3 donation recommended (San Bernardino, CA)

Music to My Eyes exhibit: David Edward Byrd: Posters and Music Related Designs 1968-Now Cost: FREE. $3 donation recommended (San Bernardino, CA)

Treasures of Ancient Egypt exhibit: Greeks in the Boot: Greek Influences in the Italian Peninsula as Reflected in the Pottery of Various Regions, ca. 800-200 B.C. Cost: FREE. $3 donation recommended (San Bernardino, CA)

The Permanent Collection: The largest, most comprehensive photographic center in the West features four sub-collections: the Bingham Technology Collection, University Print Collection, the UCR/California Museum of Photography Study Center Library Collection, and the Digital Virtual Collectio Cost: (Riverside, CA)

Sentry: Works by Joe Biel: The museum exhibition featuring a series of large-scale, two-dimensional drawings on paper and a monumental drawing installation specifically produced for the Culver Center of the Arts.

The Musical Adventures of Flat Stanley: Stanley Lambchop is a normal boy in all respects who wants to do something amazing. One night, the bulletin board above his bed falls right on top of him – and he wakes up flat!

Celebrating Lunar New Year At Pechanga Resort

Inland Moms attended the Lunar New Year celebration at Pechanga Casino & Resort. The official seven day Chinese New Year Holiday was kicked off at the entrance of the Pechanga Hotel with colorful decor and fireworks.

It was a festive event! Make sure to watch the video to capture the spectacular traditional festivities and fireworks!

The Chinese festival marking the start of the new year, beginning on the second new moon after the winter solstice and ending on the full moon fifteen days later. It is marked by visits to family and friends, special meals, fireworks, and gift giving. We were so excited to be able to participate in the celebration.

The weekend in Inland Empire is looking pretty fabulous! Inland Empire is well known for its wineries and wonderful restaurants. However, there is a lot of great things happening as well for those of us that love the local arts, music and culture scene. Whether you are a Yogi or a lover of art were sure you will love this weekends curated list of events.

Temecula Yoga Collective: celebrates their one year anniversary with FREE Classes for all attendees this weekend. We recommend it for beginners and advanced Yogi’s. You’ll have a wonderful time. Cost: FREE (Temecula, CA)

Lucky Lion Dancers: Pechanga Casino will featured the Lucky Lion Dancers in celebration of Chinese New Year Cost: FREE (Temecula, CA)

iPad Tips and Tricks FREE Class: Mike Loring will open the meeting with a discussion of the Windows operating system from 8:30 to 9:30. At 10 a.m., Delvina Fiducia will present an overview of some the features of the Apple iPad. We will go over some tips and tricks in Photos, the Safari browser, Mail, and Facetime. TVCUG is an all-volunteer nonprofit educational organization, there is no admission fee, and all ages are welcome. WiFi is available at no charge. Cost: FREE (Temecula, CA)

Vintage Shopping Market: Come enjoy a new shopping experience on the beautiful grounds of Jensen-Alvarado Ranch. Shop early, be the first to discover antiques, collectibles and re-purposed home decor. The market will be open to the public February 1, 2014 and the first Saturday of every other month. Disney Frozen Sing-Along & Activity Sheets

We absolutely loved Disney Frozen movie! It’s a story of two sisters with a wonderful message for youth. The Sing-Along version of Frozen is in theaters now! We’ve included a sneak peek at “Let It Go” to help you practice your vocals and a couple of Activity Sheets from Disney’s Frozen to help families make it a special occasion.

Movie Summary

Fearless optimist Anna teams up with Kristoff to help her find her sister Elsa and save the kingdom. Throughout their adventure they encounter an endearing and funny friend Olaf, the snowman. The movie brings a wonderful message to youth about overcoming fears and self esteem.
